Steps to a Fabulous Smokey Eye!

Start by sweeping a light beige color all over the eye from the lid up to the brow.
Apply a medium brown in the entire crease from outer corner to inner corner.
Use a neutral grey all over the lid.
Then sweep the grey under the bottom lashes.
Use a soft black shadow in the outer corner of the eye.
In the water line use a waterproof black pencil to give the eye more depth.
The most important part of a smokey eye is to blend.
Add a few coats of mascara to complete the look!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

I find the Shu Uemura eyelash curler to be quite different from other brands. When trying it out I realized that it actually curls the lashes, instead of making a crease, resulting in what I call the "check mark" effect.

With further investigation, I found that the perfect curl is created by the silicone mushroom shape pad and patented hinge that achieves the perfect amount of pressure on the lash. This eyelash curler is shaped with a curved angle, which is great for all eye shapes.

The Shu Uemura eyelash curler is now a staple item in my makeup kit as well as in my personal makeup bag. I highly recommend it!

Tips for Green Eyes

Add a dark plum eyeliner to make eyes look their greenest!

Try using eyeshadows that have either plum, red, or pink undertones to compliment your green eye color.

One of my favorite eyeshadow shades to use is "Shale" from MAC.

Know Your Skin Type

There are 5 basic skin types:

1. Dry Skin ~ has a poreless texture, always needs extra moisturizer

2. Normal/Combination Skin ~ has an oily T Zone, yet dry in other places

3. Oily Skin ~ has large pores and a reflective texture

4. Sensitive Skin ~ can be allergic to makeup, skin products, and fragrances

5. Problematic/Acne Skin ~ clogged pores and blemishes

Knowing your skin type will assist you in purchasing the correct products such as an exfoliating scrub, moisturizer, and foundation.

Prep Your Skin

Before applying makeup, be sure to cleanse the skin and use a daily moisturizer.

You can find many moisturizers with built in sunscreen to protect from UV rays.

If you tend to be oily, try an oil control moisturizer. If you are dry, use a product that is very hydrating for the skin.

Gorgeous makeup starts with great skin!
